North Wilkesboro Speedway is no longer for just 4 wheels racing anymore, yesterday was a very historic day for North Wilkesboro Speedway, for the first time a bike racing series graced the historic speedway. Put on by Pirate Race Productions of Boone, NC about 30 racers took to the track in 3 classes for their first endurance race of 2010.

Billed as the NWS CRIT Series held under sanction by USA Cycling, the series is promoted by Andrew Stackhouse an avid bike racer. The series will run every other Wednesday at North Wilkesboro Speedway beginning at 6:00 on the track from April 7th till August 25th , on August 21 and 22 The Wilkesboro Tourism Development Authority will be sponsoring a two day NWS Speed Weekend.  More information on the series can be found on Pirate Race Productions website http://www.pirateraceproductions.com.
